Past Tours

The Symphonic Band has gone on several tours to Europe, Hawaii and currently, we have adjusted our 2021 plans for our 90th-year tour.  It is our intention to celebrate WVYB's 92/93rd year in 2023-2024 with a Canada Tour. The WVYB musicians will perform several concerts coast to coast in Canada from Victoria, B.C. to St. John's, Nfld in 2022.

2019: the touring WVYB band performed several concerts as they traveled through the Netherlands and Germany. The band was honoured to play at the German Canadian Society AGM for the German and Canadian consulate where the former Canadian Base in Lahr is located and at a renowned Flower Festival in Heilbronn. Plus the young musicians got to first-hand experience a weekend Medival Festival in the castle and castle grounds we stayed at in Ortenberg.

A highlight for the musicians was when they performed a joint concert with the Ellwangen Youth Orchestra in the Ellwangen Palace grounds and also experienced the warm welcome the families that offered to home stayed our fifty-two musicians for five-night. Prior to leaving Europe, the musicians had the opportunity to explore the Marienplatz and the walking streets of Munich.

2014: tour, the Symphonic Touring Band traveled throughout the Rhine River region of Germany and enjoyed home staying with the Ellwangen Youth Orchestra in the region of Baden-Wüttemberg.

2011: the Band toured Germany, Netherlands, and Belgium.  On this tour, the Band was given the honour of playing at the Vimy Memorial.  It was the first non-military band in many years to be allowed this honour.  The Band also played at the Menin Gate.
